Uneven Breasts? Re-Balance With Breast Lift or Augmentation

For many women, their breasts play an integral role in helping them feel feminine and attractive. If your breasts are asymmetrical, however, you may be tired of dealing with ill-fitting bras and swimsuits, or feeling self-conscious at the gym or in intimate moments with your partner. If it’s time to make a change, breast surgery can help you feel sexy and confident again.

How Can Breast Augmentation Correct Uneven Breasts?

You may assume breast augmentation is only for women who want larger or rounder breasts. However, did you know it can also address the issue of breasts that are different shapes or sizes? Our board-certified plastic surgeons can help you choose breast implants to solve your problem.

For example, if one of your breasts is an A cup and the other is a C cup, you might only choose to get an implant in the smaller breast. Or, you may decide you’d like your surgeon to place a smaller implant in one breast and a large one in the other. The result will be balanced, even breasts.

How Does Breast Lift Fix Breast Asymmetry?

A breast lift is a corrective surgery that repositions breasts so they sit higher on the chest. It is common for women who have experienced weight fluctuations or undergone pregnancy and breastfeeding to request this surgery. Women with larger and heavier breasts may also find they experience sagging over time due to gravity.

You may have noticed the larger of your two breasts has started to droop and want to have it corrected with a lift. Women with a noticeable difference in their breast size may decide to get their larger breast lifted and their smaller breast augmented at the same time.

What to Expect After Breast Surgery

Breast surgery is an outpatient procedure that takes place while you are under anesthesia. You will need to have someone you trust available to drive you home, as well as to take care of you for the first 24 hours of your recovery period. You’ll need to plan at least one week away from work for your recovery, and you will also need to wear a specially designed surgical bra to support your breasts while they heal. We ask that you refrain from heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for four weeks after your surgery.

The most common side effects of breast surgery are swelling, bruising, tightness, and soreness. If you experience any discomfort, you can manage it with pain medications. We’ll send you home with detailed instructions about how to care for your incisions and when to return for follow-up appointments with your surgeon. Please follow these instructions diligently for optimal results and a smoother healing process.
